This is a view of me which is as much for me as it is for you. So when I get older and lose my memory, I'll have it written down somewhere.

Name: David Tebelau
Reside: Colorado
Parents: Show and Ebil Benjamin
Sibling: Rick Benjamin-Tebelau
Nationality: Palauan American
Childern: Dimitri, Brett, and Dana. With Brett and Dana hopefully visiting soon!
The official name change story:
During World War II the Japanese occupied Palau. My father was born and subsequently adopted to a different family. The Japanese burned and destroyed all hospital records and my father didn't know what his last name was, so his family gave him the last name "Benjamin".
Well, when the American's liberated Palau, he found out his last name is "Tebelau" but rather than go through the hassle of changing his name he put the "Tebelau" in the middle.
So I was officially born David Teblau Benjamin (misspelled, of course..) and before Dimitri was born I wanted to change my name to give him the identity I didn't have growing up. So right before he was born I changed my last name to "Tebelau" reasoning that it's possibly the best gift I can give him.
My Story:
On August 19, 1970 a young lad was born to Show and Ebil Benjamin in a basement in Lakewood, CO. If you ever wonder why I'm as strange as I am you can look to that first event in my life. See, I wasn't born in the hospital. I was anxious to get going in the world and well...it just so happened that my dad and Rick were fishing at the time. So my father and bro come strolling in, and there's my mom, having me.
Since then, it's been a lifelong ride of amazement and fun, some tears, mostly laughs. Ironic how my life has been always determined by timing, since my birth. Sure, I went to high school, went to college (didn't finish but should and would like to.) Done everything from working at a gas station to production of protein based pharmaceuticals and everything you can imagine in between.
Dimitri was given to me by God and his mother on June 12, 1993. From the second he took his first breath to now he's been the focal point of my life. He's a wonderful kid and the best son I could possibly ask for.
Love is a constant, growing thing with me. I've found the most beautiful woman (Ginger) and hope to continue this wonderful dance forever. I'm blessed with her and love her with all my heart.
Short but sweet. But I didn't want to bore you all with just me. But that's basically my story in a nutshell.
Hobbies:
I'm a dead set music junkie and outdoor enthusiast. I listen to everything from Sinatra to the Beatles, from Mozart to DMX.
I love to travel, the world is a big place, my goal is to see a little of it before I die. I love the mountains: camping, hiking, fishing, mountain biking.
Give me a radio and put me under the sky and I'm all set. I also love to write.
